The nationwide lockdown will not be lifted on Monday as scheduled.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says instead, it will be extended by two more weeks until June 28th.

There will be no changes to the current SOPs.

New record of daily COVID-19 vaccinations

Malaysia has hit a new record for daily COVID-19 vaccine doses.

Almost 160,000 people were given the vaccine yesterday under the National Immunisation Program.

It's the third straight day that the program has passed its daily vaccination target of 150,000 doses.

All in, more than four million doses have been administered nationwide.

Msia reports over 6k new COVID-19 cases

Malaysia reported a surge in new COVID-19 cases, with new infections passing the 6,000 mark for a second time in three days

6,849 cases were recorded nationwide, with 2,558 detected in Selangor alone.

The Health Ministry also reported 84 fatalities, raising the death toll to 3,768.
