A Texas mother finally met her son that she had placed for adoption as a baby 45 years ago.

When she was 16, Brenda Van Sickle delivered a baby boy in 1975.

She explained to NBC that the reason why she gave her son up for adoption at the time was because her life as a teenager was unstable, and she could not care for her newborn baby.

She added that it was really difficult for her to sign the adoption papers.

A few months ago, her son, who was named Wes Fenner called her on the phone from New Orleans. They talked on the phone for the very first time, but he did not mention anything about being her biological son. He explained that it was a pretty awkward conversation on the phone.

After the conversation, they agreed to meet a few weeks later.

Fenner said that the experience of meeting his biological mother was overwhelming.

While waiting at a parking lot of a hotel, a voice from behind Brenda called out: “Mom, it’s me”

A truly heartwarming moment reunited the two together after 45 years. It turns out that the mother and son were trying to search for each other several years ago, but it all led to a dead end.

However, through DNA testing and the help of an adoption search angel, the two finally got a chance to meet.

Van Sickle is truly happy when she found out that her son went on to have a good life, working at a major bank in New Orleans and has a loving family. She even found out that she has a grandson who's 9 years old.

"I'm looking forward to the next stage,” Van Sickle said. “Meeting him wasn't the end of the journey. It's an ongoing journey."

We wish you both the best moving forward!
