There are several renowned authors who have published their works at a very young age. From Mary Shelley at the age of 18 when she began her quest of creating the classic story of Frankenstein to Daish Ashford who wrote The Young Visitors at the age of 9 in 1890.

Now, a young poet has emerged into the scene and landed himself a book deal, too. Meet four-year-old poet, Nadim Shamma Sourgen.

Nadim was scouted by Orwell prize winner, poet and teacher, Kate Clanchy.  She met with Nadim's mother, who is a lecturer in literature at the University of Reading. Clanchy shared some of his poems on social media and it gained the attention of several news outlets.

Now, the boy has landed his very first book deal which will release a collection of his “astonishing” poems. The executive of the publication house, Walker Books, Denise Johnstone-Burt said that she was amazed that someone so young could write such sensitive verse.

She added that the poems highlight several important feelings including love and loneliness and Nadim finds words that are simply perfect.

“They are simple, inspirational and have a wisdom all of their own”.

Nadim will be the youngest-ever writer to land a book deal at the age of 4.

Great job Nadim!
