Mental health is equally as important as physical health.

A lot of people tend to neglect mental health and see it as something they can get over easily. People aren’t usually aware that exhaustion could cause emotional or mental strain. Let’s not forget that people tend to hide their true emotions so as to not seem vulnerable, and, honestly, that can get pretty tiring.

So, if you’re experiencing these symptoms, then perhaps it’s time you give yourself a day off… for your mental health sake:

#1 Overreacting to small things

When we’re mentally drained, it’s easy to get ticked off by the simple things. When you realise that minor things are annoying you, that’s when you know you should take a day off for your mental health.

#2 Tired all the time

Being tired isn’t necessarily caused from physical energy being drained. Admitting that emotions and the mind can drain us easily is a step to recognising that you need to take a break. This is especially when you’re aware that your mind is racing all the time.

#3 It’s hard to focus

When you find it difficult to focus on something, it’s clear that your mind is preoccupied with other things. Take a day off to collect your thoughts in order to regain your focus.

#4 Getting sick

Stress can easily cause the body to act differently. When you start falling sick easily, that’s when you know your mental health is at risk. Even simple things like headaches and weight loss can be caused by too much stress in the mind.

#5 The weekend isn’t enough

While it’s true that the weekend is never enough for the average Joe, the case may be more serious for someone who’s too stressed out. If the job requires working on the weekends, it’s evident that weekends aren’t enough. On top of that, it’s easy to detect stress when you’re already anxious about the following week even before the weekend comes.

Watch out for these signs! Mental health is just as important as physical health and it’s important to take care of the mind, body and soul.
