Interstate and tourism activities will be allowed only after 90 percent of Malaysia’s adults have been fully vaccinated.
According to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, six decisions have been made with the special committee managing the COVID-19 pandemic.
The government will allow the opening of tourism centres, island, tourism areas and interstate activities.
Aside from that, spa business, wellness centres and health massages will be allowed to operate starting from October 1 with the requirement for both operators and visitors to have already been fully vaccinated.
Another decision made by the committee is that foreigners arriving at Malaysia’s international entry points will need to bear the cost of a COVID-19 test, while the same test would be free for Malaysians.
The other relaxations in rules includes allowing full employee attendance at businesses that are permitted to operate if the employer and all employees are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Grocery stores, mini markets, restaurants, petrol stations and convenience stores will be allowed to operate from 6am to midnight, starting from today.
