While COVID-19 is currently the talk of the town, cases of dengue fever have also been rising in Malaysia.
According to the government website which tracks dengue fever cases, iDengue, there's already been 34,755 cases reported this year.
Thus far, 49 people have succumbed to the disease, which is spread by Aedes mosquitoes.
Several districts in Selangor are considered hotspots for dengue cases.
In 2018, more than 80,000 cases were reported.
Public Health Malaysia noted that there is no cure for dengue fever yet, but it can be prevented by getting rid the Aedes mosquitoes and its breeding grounds.
We urge you to please take care of your well-being, and stay safe.
