A 73-year-old woman from Mysuru, India recently decided to give love a second chance and put out a matrimonial advertisement in the local newspaper, ‘Mysooru Mithra', seeking a partner.

She described herself as a divorcee and a former teacher.

According to India Today, she also said that she had not remarried and that after her parents died, she felt lonely and was also afraid of doing things on her own.

“I don’t have a family of my own. My parents are no longer around. My first marriage ended in a divorce. I fear staying alone. I may fall at home and fail to get help, or fear of walking home from the bus stop, have led me to look for a life partner,” she said.

Her criteria for a life companion is that he is to be stable, older than her, and from her culture. She did get replies, but some of them were scammers.

“I am accustomed to the surroundings of Mysuru and Bengaluru only hence I am looking for a companion from these areas. Many miscreants too called and made fun of me. They have used derogatory language too. I would request them not to make fun of my intentions. It hurts. If I don’t get a suitable match, staying in an old-age home will be inevitable. I only hope that I will not be cheated again,” she added.

She's now gotten a response from a 69-year-old retired engineer who is also a widower and stays by himself. When his friends saw the advertisement, they encouraged him to respond to her.

We wish her the best of luck with her search.

And for those of us who are afraid to try again, this may be a message from the universe to take the first step and see what happens.
